HydNet

HydNet uses two different application packages, i.e. PreProcessor PreNet and PostProcessor PostNet, which are both operative in MicroStation environment, to facilitate at most the procedures of data input (PreNet) and result analysis (PostNet).

PreNet Features:
  • It is able to import from external files information in ASCII characters DXF format to reconstruct any hydraulic element of the network and to introduce the related territorial references.

  • It can export the network by means of files in ASCII characters in GMF internal format, for a rapid and manageable interchange with other computer systems.
  • With the aid of suitably established libraries, it allows for a quick, easy and intuitive introduction of different hydraulic and boundary elements constituting not only the network but also the connected plants.

  • It manages autonomously a database of materials to introduce, with extreme simplicity, all information related to the different hydraulic elements in the aqueduct network system

  • It keeps up to date a database referring to the main network and plants, allowing the consumer to move at once to different points of the geographic system to individuate a given plant or a single pipeline or to visualize, upon request, the details of the main network or plants.

  • It manages different types of visualization with the possibility to create thematic maps in accordance with different geomorphometric characteristics of the network.
  • It allows an easy and quick modification of the system in any moment, adding or eliminating elements or modifying their features.

PostProcessor PostNet:
  • It allows to launch the models with a simple ‘click', assigning with simplicity the names of files and options for the different mathematical models.

  • It analyzes the results of simulations by the mathematical models allowing the comparison with different conditions of load.

  • It can create thematic maps concerning values of the hydrodynamic variables (pressure, flow, velocity and HGL) for all the hydraulic elements of the network and the plants.

  • It represents the graphs of hydrodynamic variables at different hydraulic elements, boundary elements and control points.

  • It allows the creation of reports on results which can be either printed or directly put into documents.
