WatMan, the model for pressure network management, is able to provide with precise instructions concerning both the manoeuvres to be performed on regulation and control organs in case of unforeseen events or accidents (break-up of a branch, accidental manoeuvres of valves, minimum and maximum demand, etc.), and those aimed at optimizing operations of reservoirs, wells and pumping stations .

Besides, WatMan is able to capture and store information about the network possibly coming from a telecontrol system, such as SCADA System, perfectly interacting with it. Moreover, as a result of precise logics defined on the basis of hydraulic assessments and criteria of lowest energetic consumption by pumping stations, it can send operational messages to the network, aiming at the management optimization and safety. The whole structure, consisting of the water network and its relevant plants (graphically represented with an appropriate symbology), has a graphic database associated to any hydraulic elements of the schematization.

Hydraulic Analysis:
  • It exploits an exclusive algorithm to plan the optimal manoeuvres for telecontrol organs with the aim of minimizing energetic consumption of the network satisfying at the same time consumers' demands.

  • It calculates the values for pressure, flow, velocity and HGL in different points of the network and plants, with the possibility to assess changes in the water system as some operational features of valves and of pumps vary.

  • It supplies variations in time at control points in pressure developments and in flow at different hydraulic and boundary elements of the aqueduct system.
